Tommi Edwards

I was first introduced to Pilates not too long after learning I was expecting. Black maternal health stats are alarming and I was determined to do all within my power to have a safe and successful pregnancy by stacking the odds in my favor. After some research, I soon discovered Pilates.

Due to the pandemic, I had to pause my Pilates practice but I later resumed as part of my post-natal regimen. This form of exercise has been monumental to my personal development & overall wellness. I now get to share my love for Pilates and how it has positively impacted me, with others.

It is important to me to develop classes that focus on developing strength while being intentional about functional mobility.

Leona Wilson

Born and raised in Barbados, I relocated to New York City in 1998 to pursue a career in the beauty industry. I have been a Hairstylist for 20+ years and a Salon Owner for the last 10 years in Midtown, NYC.

With all of this said, the years that I have spent working in the career that I love had begun to take a toll on my body; and I was experiencing chronic physical pain in my neck and shoulders. The pain was so intense that I had to seek Physical Therapy for treatment and that led me to Pilates. It was at the suggestion of my Physical Therapist that I was made aware of the Restorative Healing Benefits of Pilates; and in 2021, I began my Pilates journey. It was love at first breath and I can truly say that nothing has had such a significant impact on my body than Pilates.

Within 8 months of starting my first class, Pilates has helped to eliminate the chronic pain that I was experiencing in my neck and shoulder areas; and that positive impact on my body is what inspired me to embark on the extensive and rigorous training process to become a Certified Pilates Instructor. I can honestly say that the things that excite us are not random; but they are connected to our purpose in life!

Now as a Certified Pilates Instructor, I am even more fascinated by the human body and its ability to adapt and change no matter how old a person is. My goal is to create and develop Pilates class sessions that will help people discover how easy it can be to make sustainable lasting changes in their bodies, while enhancing their ability to move with more freedom and ease.

Ariel Hodge

From dance, to cheerleading, and always living in a busy city movement has always been a part of my life since childhood. Now as an adult, I work in clinical research and enjoy learning and understanding all things that contribute to the health of the human body. I discovered Pilates as an adult in search of an exercise routine that I enjoyed while also searching for something that provided both physical and mental benefits for the body. As a new mother, Pilates has also helped me to stay active & strong throughout my pregnancy, prepare for childbirth, and recover postpartum.

My goal in teaching is to empower and encourage my clients to progress their practice, find joy in movement, understand their specific body, and most importantly deepen their mind body connection. I also look forward to bringing Pilates to spaces and people who aren’t aware of or have access to it.
